AI Services Launches the new 2016/17 Dairy Catalogue

This week sees the launch of the 2016/17 Dairy Catalogue from AI Services. The catalogue contains many new and exciting young Genomic sires alongside many established Daughter Proven sires.
There is a strong lineup of high PLI sires with particular emphasis on components in both kilograms and percentages for the Northern Ireland dairy industry. As milk prices recover, breeding with these sires adds value to the base price of your milk, which can strongly influence the profit margin per cow.
Within the catalogue 30 Holstein bulls are positive on both Fat and Protein percent, complemented by high component weights and milk volume. The top milk production sire is Aftershock with +823 Kgs of Milk, and the highest component sire is Barbarossa with +67.4 Kgs of combined Fat and Protein.
As management traits become increasingly important to dairy farmers, the catalogue gives clear information regarding these figures to assist in selection. Ten sires have over +7.0 in Fertility Index, twelve score +0.5 or higher in Lifespan, and fourteen have -15 or better to improve Somatic Cell Count.
The catalogue also highlights a range of Sexed Semen, Coloured Breeds and Beef Sires specifically suited for use in the dairy herd.
